    Sgt. William K. ClaxtonTroop C, 116th Squadron

    Silver Star

On 19 April 1945, in Germany, while on a combat mission, although seriously wounded and in the face of continuous enemy fire, Sgt. Claxton crawled 200 yards to get aid for his men. His action saved the lives of his section and was a source of inspiration to all personnel. He entered military service from Columbia, Missouri.
